the little things you find that prove your inability
your inadequacy

remember when you were 12 and you thought
‘oh, but when I am twenty-something I will be confident and able’
yet here you are, with the same broken mind
here you are, constantly wanting to please others because the thought of disappointing someone is unbearable
here you are, still in search of external validation
even when you know you shouldn’t want it
